Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and passionate Japanese cuisine Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production and preparation and sushi knowledge, with the ability to lead and manage a team effectively. The Chef will be responsible for creating exceptional dining experiences while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient food production and service. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to foster a collaborative team environment. Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, showcasing culinary creativity and expertise. Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in accordance with health regulations. Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste. Collaborate with management to develop seasonal menus that reflect current culinary trends. Train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety practices. Ensure all dishes are presented beautifully and served at the appropriate temperatures.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role within the hospitality industry. Strong supervisory skills with experience in team management. Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices. Excellent leadership abilities with a passion for mentoring and developing staff. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, along with a strong understanding of customer service principles.
