Job Overview



As CDP you maintain the standard of the kitchen at The Dark Horse Pub. We want you to share our passion, understand our niche and aim for the same goal. To achieve it together, you must demonstrate and exemplify our core values as a member of our kitchen team. You are essential to delivering the food we want our customers to have.

We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and culinary arts, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. As a Chef, you will play a crucial role in creating delicious dishes that delight our guests while supervising kitchen operations.

Duties



Personal Conduct

:

? Support kitchen team leadership.

? Fulfill daily service operations requirements with positivity.

? Demonstrate our core values at all times.

? Dedicate yourself to personal progression through a structured development program.

Operations:



? Fulfill daily kitchen operations tasks, including but not limited to:

? Kitchen opening and closing tasks, such as receiving deliveries, food prep and cleaning down.

? In-shift kitchen service, such as preparing dishes to spec on order, coordination with other kitchen sections, portion control and section cleanliness.

? Section management, such as stock control, wastage minimisation, stock counts, labeling and organisation.

? Accordance with management instruction

? Accordance with food safety, compliance and health & safety requirements, especially allergens and dietary requirements.

? Stock control and stock counts

? Equipment cleaning and maintenance

? Preparing staff food

? Assist achievement of KPI targets including EHO scores, GP and online reviews.

Product Quality and Knowledge:



? Ensure all guests receive brilliant food.

? Support the delivery of excellent customer service and drinks.

? Maintain a high personal level of product knowledge.

Expectations



Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards. Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations. Collaborate with the restaurant management team to develop seasonal menus and special offerings. Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and ingredients, placing orders as necessary. Monitor the quality of dishes served, making adjustments as needed to meet guest expectations. Assist in training new kitchen staff on cooking techniques and safety practices. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained.

Experience



Proven experience as a CDP or in a similar role within the hospitality industry. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary arts, and food safety regulations. Experience in supervising kitchen staff and managing team dynamics effectively. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting. A passion for cooking and creating memorable dining experiences for guests.
