We have positions open for keen to learn CDP and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary teams in Dedham, Manningtree and Ipswich. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional food experiences. As a key member of our kitchen, you will assist the Head Chefs in managing daily operations, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. Duties
Assist the Head Chef in planning and developing menus that align with the restaurant's concept and customer preferences.
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of food preparation.
Oversee food production processes, maintaining consistency in taste, presentation, and quality.
Prepare a variety of dishes, demonstrating advanced cooking techniques and culinary skills.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times.
Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and manage inventory to minimise waste and optimise resources.
Train new team members on food preparation, safety procedures, and service standards.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment in accordance with health regulations.
Support the development of junior staff through coaching and mentorship.
Requirements
Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment.
Extensive background in food production, cooking, and culinary arts.
Strong team management skills with the ability to lead by example.
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management.
Previous experience working in restaurants or hospitality settings is highly desirable.
Excellent organisational skills with an ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
Good understanding of food preparation techniques and presentation standards.
Leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
