Location: Tutbury, Derbyshire
Shift pattern: 3 on, 3 off - 12-hour shifts, Days & Nights Salary: 54,000-60,000 depending on experience + potential, discretionary 8% annual bonus + generous pension scheme + 24-day holiday entitlement + 2 paid volunteering days + other fantastic benefits!

Position Summary


We have a fantastic opportunity for a talented, driven individual to join our Nestle Coffee business within our Factory as a Cell Manager, reporting directly to the Manufacturing Area Manager.

This role is a key role for the departments; being a shift-based role covering a defined scope within the Spray Dried or Freeze-Dried Manufacturing departments.

The Nestle Tutbury Factory in Derbyshire is one of the largest Nestle factories in Europe after circa 500 million investment over the last few years. It is also the home of Nescafe and Dolce Gusto in the UK producing a range of beverage products. These are produced through a highly automated PLC controlled process plant and automated filling and packing lines.

The factory is a Centre of excellence for Nescafe products around the world producing freeze-dried, spray dried and pod coffee technologies and is at the forefront of coffee innovation globally.

Manufacturing in Nestle is all about ensuring the consumer receives a perfect quality product, at the right time and place whilst driving losses from our business to maximise efficiency and productivity.

A day in the life of a Coffee Manufacturing - Cell Manager


This role will play a key role in the Coffee Manufacturing process at our state-of-the-art plant!

Ensure line production plan is fully achieved on time and in compliance on shift with internal and external requirements meeting safety, quality, cost, delivery and environmental needs, strive towards manufacturing excellence.


Responsible for team competency building within the line team - Implement a continuous improvement mindset.


Carry out performance evaluation processes for direct reports.


Leading SDCA (Standardise, Do, Check, Act) - Ensure correct standards are in place - Carry out on the job verification.


Supporting PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) activities by ensuring line activity plan is carried out according to plan.


What will make you successful


The ideal candidate for this role will join us with experience in Manufacturing leadership, preferably within an FMCG environment.

Other key attributes will include:Proven experience managing a team in a FMCG production manufacturing environment.


You will need to demonstrate understanding of Safety, Engineering, Quality and Labour regulations. You will need to have experience with TPM and continuous improvement projects.
Displaying strong initiative and drive for continuous improvement with a natural coaching & development style and a genuine interest in people development.


Ability to challenge the norm with a problem-solving mindset.
Experience of developing strategy to drive line improvement.


Experience managing and implementing change programs would be an advantage.


Strong leadership capability and operational management experience.
