Job title: Central Management Accountant


Reporting to: Group Financial Controller


Location: Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk (Hybrid working opportunities available)


Hours: 37.5 hours per week


Contract term: 4 months (to cover a sabbatical period)

The Opportunity




The key role of the central management accountant is to proactively support the Group with its monthly management accounting obligations as well as with budgets and reforecasts, as well as on a day-to-day basis assist with centrally managed functions such as treasury and capital expenditure. The role would also involve supporting the wider finance team when required, and working with other business functions units as appropriate

What you'll be doing




The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

Treasury manager



Daily monitoring of company and group cash and debt and advising on immediate borrowings, cash requirements, cash optimisation and foreign exchange management. Preparation of weekly and monthly company and group cash flow reporting to assist in decision making.

Management accounts for central functions



Monthly management financial reporting for Group company and central functions as well as assistance with quarterly budget and forecasts.

Capital expenditure management



Responsible for processes around capital project take-on and approvals, assistance with payback calculations where required. Prepare monthly financial information on capital project for operational teams and other stakeholders in UK and US, and hold monthly progress meetings. Monthly capex and lease accounting.

Interim and companyfinancial reporting



Provide assistance to the team during the preparation of the Group's 31st March 2026 interim financial accounts, which will be released to the London Stock Exchange in May 2026. Help with preparation of the UK company statutory accounts for year ended 30 September 2025.

General



Maintain best practice and adhere to Group controls framework Use of JDE accounting system and maintaining accounting records Preparation and maintenance of accounting schedules and reconciliations. Support ad-hoc business strategic project and administration duties as required. Provide helpful data analysis and be proficient in excel applications.

What we're looking for

+ AAT qualified or part qualified + Strong excel skills
+ Experience of using and extracting data from financial accounting systems
+ Previous experience of using a business ERP system is advantageous
+ Strong numeracy and literacy skills
+ Thorough and logical approach to tasks
+ Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines, whilst maintaining attention to detail
+ Ability to work independently and on own initiative, within a team environment
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
+ Cooperative and supportive team player
