Position: Gordon Messenger Centre Assistant
Hours: Full-Time (35 hours per week, predominantly working day time hours with evenings and weekends where required - time off in lieu provided)
Location: Gordon Messenger Centre (GMC), Commando Training Centre Royal Marines (CTCRM), Lympstone
Salary: 29,000 per annum
Reports To: GMC Centre Manager

What You'll Do
Lead Centre Operations: Open and close the centre, ensuring it's clean, safe, and ready for use.
Create Experiences: Plan and deliver engaging events, workshops, and activities that bring the community together.
Being the main conduit between the current two part time team members and the centre manager
Build Connections: Welcome and support military personnel, veterans, and families, making everyone feel at home.
Keep Things Safe: Monitor the centre and ensure all activities meet GMC standards (training provided).
Spread the Word: Promote events and programmes to maximise community involvement.
Stay Organised: Handle admin tasks like attendance records, newsletters, and data entry.
Shape the Future: Take the lead on new projects and initiatives to grow what the centre offers.
What We're Looking For
Creative Vision: A flair for planning and delivering events that inspire and connect people.
People Skills: Friendly, approachable, and passionate about building a supportive community.
Organised & Adaptable: Able to manage multiple tasks and respond flexibly to changing needs.
Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with Office 365, Teams, SharePoint, and basic data management.
Experience: Previous work in community services, event planning, or with military families is a plus.

Security & Understanding: A DBS check (provided by MOD) and an appreciation of military culture and the challenges faced by service families.
