Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Centre Director to lead and oversee the daily operations of our educational centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring high-quality teaching standards, and fostering a positive learning environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an individual passionate about education and leadership to make a meaningful impact within our fast-growing education organisation.
You will work closely at management level as part of a small, ambitious and energetic team. As Centre Director, you will be accountable for running and developing your own learning centre, developing strong links with the local community and building a strong and knowledgeable teaching team. You will have a thorough induction and training period, during which the Directors will oversee and guide you, as well as the support of the teams at our other centres.
Duties
Lead the development and implementation of educational programmes, ensuring they meet organisational standards and learner needs.
Sales - Meeting targets resulting in a profitable centre
Recruit a team of exceptional tutors
Manage, support, and motivate teaching staff to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
Oversee centre administration, including enrolment processes, scheduling, and resource management.
Delivering tuition to students in the core subjects (English, Maths and Science) both on-site as well as at our partner schools-in line with successful candidate's experience and expertise
Monitor centre performance through data analysis and feedback to continuously improve service quality.
Foster strong relationships with learners, parents, and community partners to promote centre activities and initiatives.
Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, health and safety regulations, and safeguarding procedures. Ensuring Ofsted, Local Authority and school requirements' are met.
Organise staff training sessions and professional development opportunities to maintain high teaching standards.
Maintain a welcoming, inclusive environment that encourages learner engagement and success.
Supporting the Head of Centre in delivering national exams such as GCSEs, functional skills and A levels to our independent candidates.
Work with our marketing company to market our services and book and plan external marketing events
Build strategic relationships with community partners in order to drive new business
Helping with lesson planning and assisting tutors in classes when needed
Requirements
Proven experience in educational settings with a strong background in tutoring or teaching.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively.
Excellent organisational skills with the capacity to oversee multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise confidently with staff, learners, and external stakeholders.
Passion for education and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities within a dynamic organisational setting.
Personable and confident - able to build relationships quickly
Passionate about working with children and in education
Receptive to feedback with a positive attitude
Self-motivated and able to use initiative and share fresh ideas with management
Work well independently as well as with the rest of our incredible management team
Experience and Qualifications
Previous experience working with children or in education-prior tutoring or teaching experience highly beneficial
Good knowledge of the U.K. education system and national curriculum
Previous experience managing/working within a team
Educated to at least undergraduate level-2:1 or above
GCSE/A-level Maths & English
