Valleys Link Pharmacy in Cilfynydd is a progressive, community?focused pharmacy working closely with Valleys Medical Group and a range of local healthcare partners. We provide a wide range of services, including support for care homes, blister pack (MDS) dispensing, and expanding clinical services within the community.

We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) to join our team. This role goes beyond traditional accuracy?checking duties. You will play a key part in ensuring smooth operational compliance, supporting dispensary staff, and helping drive service development.
The ACT will also act as an important link between the pharmacy, care home teams, GP surgery staff, and other key workers, ensuring communication and workflow remain efficient and patient?centred.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys the core ACT role but is also eager to expand their skills and take on new responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Final accuracy checking of prescriptions in line with GPhC standards
Supporting daily dispensary operations to ensure safe and efficient workflow
Overseeing operational compliance, ensuring SOPs and quality standards are followed
Coaching and supporting dispensers, helping develop skills and confidence
Working with care homes, including blister pack (MDS) preparation and communication with care staff
Acting as a bridge between pharmacy and key workers, including GP surgery teams, care home staff, and other healthcare professionals
Participating in service delivery, including flu vaccinations, smoking cessation, and other clinical services
Supporting service expansion, identifying opportunities to improve and grow patient?focused services
What We're Looking For
Qualified Accuracy Checking Technician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
Proactive, organised, and confident in supporting dispensary workflow
Willingness to expand skills into vaccination services, smoking cessation, and other clinical roles
Open to career progression and taking on additional responsibilities
Excellent communication skills, especially when working with care homes and GP partners
