When Sarah came to us during pregnancy, she was frightened, exhausted and unsure how she would cope. After her baby arrived, those feelings deepened into overwhelm. But with the right support, Sarah began to find her footing. Day by day, hope returned.


That is what our counselling service is here for. And it is why we are now searching for a Counselling Manager who can guide this service forward with compassion, confidence and clinical expertise.


We are looking for someone who understands the joys and challenges of the perinatal journey, and who can lead others to deliver life-changing support to parents and carers when they need it most.

In this role, you will:

Lead and inspire a dedicated team of paid and volunteer counsellors supporting families through pregnancy, birth and the early years of parenting Provide clinical supervision and hold a small caseload, keeping you close to the heart of the work Safeguard quality, taking the lead on compliance, standards and best practice Shape the future of the service, using your planning and budgeting skills to ensure it grows sustainably and remains person-centred Build connections, working with other services and professionals to make sure families receive wraparound support

We are looking for someone who brings:

A recognised Diploma in Counselling or related therapy qualification Professional registration with PSA, HCPC or equivalent Experience in perinatal mental health or supporting people through the perinatal period Strong post-qualifying experience, including supervision of others A natural ability to lead with both empathy and clarity, helping counsellors and volunteers to thrive Confidence with service delivery, planning and budgets, with a strategic outlook to guide growth

As we do our work in Christ's name the job you have applied for requires you to have a Christian faith and be able to work within and uphold our Christian Ethos. This is an Occupational Requirement under Part 1 of Schedule 9 to the Equality Act 2010.


This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
