CFD Engineer - RWDI Labs
United Kingdom, Remote
Step into the engine room of innovation.
RWDI Labs is the R&D hub inside RWDI--the global force behind climate driven engineering for the world's boldest buildings, industrial complexes, and infrastructure. We're the team that dreams 5 years out, prototypes at breakneck speed, and turns moonshot R&D into everyday consulting tools. If pushing computational limits and fusing ML with fluid dynamics sounds like your idea of fun, read on.
Why RWDI Labs?
Pure R&D DNA- We chart the tech roadmap that powers RWDI's consulting edge and spin new ideas into venture backed startups.
Iconic Impact- Our algorithms shape supertall towers, gigafactories, NextGen wind farms, and entire smart city districts.
Values That Stick- Innovation, integrity, integration. They're not posters on a wall--they're how we decide, build, and ship.
The Mission
As our next CFD/ML Engineer, you'll turbocharge RWDI's simulation stack--melding high-fidelity CFD with machine learning accelerators that slash runtimes and unlock design insights no human could crunch alone.
What you'll do
Reinvent how CFD is used: Refine, benchmark, and deploy state-of-the-art solvers for complex fluid and thermodynamics problems across a variety of wind engineering service lines, and more.
Code the Future: Design everything from ML models to hybridized CDF/AI approaches, and then prove they beat the status quo!
Productize Breakthroughs: Partner with consulting engineers to embed your models into their daily workflow and validate against wind tunnel or field data.
Collaborate Fearlessly: Pair with data scientists, software developers, and domain experts to turn raw research into deployable software and, occasionally, spinout companies.
Mentor & Evangelize: Be the goto voice on CFD + ML best practices across RWDI and in the wider industry community.
What you bring
5+ years hands-on CFD(steady state & transient) in industry or consulting; opensource fluency (e.g. OpenFOAM) preferred.
Proven ML chops--from physics informed NNs to Gaussian process emulators--applied to simulation workflows.
HPC wizardry on Linux clusters; scripting in Python plus a taste for C++ or similar.
Stellar communicator and natural collaborator.
Extra credit
Deep understanding of atmospheric boundary layers or wind engineering projects.
Track record of shipping opensource contributions.
