South Pennine Academies are seeking an exceptional individual to become the next Chair of the Board of Trustees. With a new five-year strategy launching this year, we are now looking for a Chair who can provide inspiring leadership, ensuring our governance remains effective, ambitious and grounded in our values.
The role of Chair:
Provide strategic leadership to the Board of Trustees, ensuring effective governance across the Trust.
Work in partnership with the Chief Executive and executive team, offering challenge and support in equal measure.
Champion the Trust's values and ensure decisions are made in the best interests of all children and young people.
Lead a highly capable and engaged Board, fostering a culture of openness, inclusion and accountability.
Act as an ambassador for the Trust, building strong external relationships and promoting our reputation and impact.
We are looking for someone who:
Shares our values of inclusion, integrity and ambition.
Has a proven record of leadership and governance at a senior level
Brings excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to foster collaboration and consensus.
Can demonstrate sound judgement, strategic insight and the ability to hold others to account constructively.
Is committed to making a real difference to the life chances of young people.
