Key Responsibilities

Drive, develop and evaluate the strategic direction of the company Provide insight and advice on all areas of the business aligned to the implementation of JT's strategy Oversee the structure and composition of the company's top management Overall accountability and oversight of the company policies and procedures Act as guardian and role model for the appropriate conduct for the company and the Board

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Strong Board experience as Chair or Senior Independent Director, with more than one mid to large sized organisation International growth/expansion experience, preferably in a rapidly evolving high-tech market Expertise in one or more of the following: M&A, Partnering, Joint Venture, Product Portfolios Experience in transformational change management Experience in Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) Strong leader with the enthusiasm to mentor, coach and work closely with the Board and executive team The energy and drive to act with agility in elevating the business to the next level Pragmatic and realistic, with the confidence to both challenge and support key Board decision making

General Characteristics:

Independence and impartiality with no conflict of interest Culturally aligned with JT values Strong understanding of strategic business issues facing JT in its various markets Experience of successfully developing and executing long term plans Excellent communication skills, with the ability to positively influence and persuade others, articulating a balanced view and engaging in constructive debate Team player who will add to JT's Board cohesion and effectiveness Recognised role model in terms of leadership and vision for the business High level of integrity, commitment and energy
Please note, it is not a requirement of this role that the candidate be a resident of Jersey but they must be willing to travel for agreed meetings.
