Change Management Guild Lead

Bolton, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

:

Change Guild leads AXA's shift to agile ways of working, with change management as a core capability. The Change Management Guild Lead sets the enterprise-wide change strategy, standards, and governance to support both large-scale transformations and iterative product-driven change, ensuring capacity, capability, and effective sponsorship across Tribes, Products, Projects and Programmes.

As the Change Management Guild Lead, you'll own the enterprise change strategy, coaching, and capability development while partnering with Tribe Leads and Portfolio Managers to forecast requirements and optimise delivery. You'll influence senior leaders, drive data-driven benefits realisation, and embed change practices that enable a smooth transition to a product-based operating model.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. We're also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.

What you'll be doing:

Develop and own the enterprise-wide change management strategy, framework, and methodologies (e.g., ADKAR, Kotter), setting standards and coaching the team in their application. Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing team of change management professionals, fostering continuous learning and best practices. Engage with senior executives and leaders to secure sponsorship and build capability among sponsors for effective change. Establish clear metrics and reporting for change effectiveness and benefits realisation, including data collection, analysis, and evidence-based decision-making. Ensure change activities proactively identify and mitigate risks to people, operations, and delivery, with risk mitigation plans. Foster collaboration with key stakeholders across AXA (Tribe Leads, Product Owners, PMO, etc.) to secure buy-in and support for change initiatives. Provide proactive change management support to Tribes and Products, spanning large-scale transformations and iterative product-driven changes. Continuously evaluate and improve change management practices, gather lessons learned, and implement best practices to enhance future initiatives.

What you'll bring:

Proven experience designing and leading the people-side of large-scale, complex transformations within a regulated environment. Strong track record building and leading formal change management teams and coaching senior business leaders to be effective change sponsors. Mastery of industry-standard change management models (e.g., ADKAR, Kotter) and their application in an agile delivery context. Ability to use data and analytics to measure change readiness, adoption, sentiment, and value of change activities. Ability to operate as a trusted advisor to senior executives, shaping their approach to leading and embedding change. Formal certification in a leading change management methodology (e.g., Prosci, APMG) is desirable. Experience partnering with Heads of Change Guild, PMO, Tribe Leads, Product Owners, and Business Sponsors to align change plans with delivery timelines. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to design and deliver compelling communications, training, and engagement strategies to drive adoption.
