Job Purpose:
To support the safe and secure transportation of a child to and from school each day by accompanying them in the vehicle and assisting the driver as needed. The escort will ensure the child's wellbeing throughout the journey, providing reassurance, supervision, and behaviour management if required.
Key Responsibilities:
Escort and supervise the child during school transport journeys.
Ensure the child's safety and comfort at all times.
Assist the driver with boarding and disembarking where necessary.
Monitor and appropriately respond to any disruptive or challenging behaviour.
Communicate effectively and professionally with parents, school staff, and the driver.
Report any concerns related to child wellbeing or safety following safeguarding procedures.
Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards at all times.
Person Specification:
Essential:
Enjoys working with children and has a calm, patient manner.
Good communication skills.
Awareness and understanding of child safety and safeguarding practices.
Reliable and punctual.
Willingness to undergo a PVG check (one will be provided if not already held).
Desirable:
Previous experience working with children, particularly those with additional or behavioural needs.
Knowledge of basic first aid.
Driving licence (not essential but preferable).
Additional Information:
This is a
term-time only position
