Ehlers-Danlos Support (EDS) UK provides information, support and guidance to those living with EDS, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and HSD, hypermobility spectrum disorders, a group of connective tissue disorders which affect most of the body and can be extremely challenging to live with.
We work closely with healthcare professionals to increase the understanding of EDS and HSD in the UK, reduce the time to diagnosis and improve knowledge of these conditions through research.
We have a well-established programme of peer-to-peer support running in our community across the UK. We also have an adviceline and an extensive array of information across a number of different channels and formats specific to EDS/HSD.
We are now looking for a Charity Administrator to join us on a part-time, permanent basis, working 14 hours per week.

The Role
As a Charity Administrator, you will provide vital day-to-day support for our charity's operations and community engagement activities.
Acting as a key point of contact for general enquiries, you'll handle queries from volunteers, members and the public via email, phone and social media. You will also provide vital administrative support to the Head of Services, assisting with the smooth delivery of events, support groups and board meetings.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Be the first point of contact for general enquiries via our phoneline, membership@ and info@ email account
- Respond to volunteer, member and general queries via email, telephone and social media
- Assist with the organisation of ad hoc activities and events, including virtual events
- Collect and collate project monitoring data for the Communities Team
- Market our support groups and provide news updates through Mailchimp/Facebook/other social media and through the website
- Moderate closed members Facebook groups
- Willing to send out limited amounts of postal information to volunteers
- Support volunteers with the tools to carry out their support work
- Organise digital storage, documents and computer-based information
- Organise travel and accommodation for staff when necessary
- Assist with the preparation of board meetings, room bookings and board packs
About You
To be considered as a Charity Administrator, you will need:
- Experience of providing administrative support
- Experience using social media and communication tools
- Experience working with websites or databases
- Experience using online platforms such as Mailchimp and WordPress
- An excellent understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and online calendars
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good time management and the ability to prioritise
