We are a newly registered charity based in Belfast, set up in 2024, with the aim of supporting those affected by humanitarian crises. We are at the very beginning of our journey, with no existing operations, and are seeking a committed individual to help us lay the foundations for impactful, sustainable work.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in shaping a new charity from the ground up. As our first hire, you will be responsible for:
Coordinating the operational setup of the charity
Leading on fundraising strategy and applications for grant funding
Building a network of supporters, donors, and volunteers
Raising awareness through outreach, events, and community engagement
Working closely with the charity's founder/director and volunteers to define and deliver on our mission
This is a flexible, part-time role suitable for someone who is highly self-motivated and passionate about humanitarian work.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a fundraising and communications plan
Identify and apply for funding opportunities
Set up administrative systems, policies, and procedures (with support)
Represent the charity in external meetings and events
Recruit and coordinate volunteers
Maintain records, reports, and basic financial tracking
Liaise with the charity's founder for regular strategic reviews
Person Specification
Essential:
Experience in charity sector, project management, or fundraising
Ability to work independently, manage time and priorities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Commitment to humanitarian principles
Confidence in outreach, networking, and public engagement
Desirable:
Knowledge of the charity sector and compliance
Experience working with small/start-up organisations
Digital skills: social media, Canva, basic website or CRM tools
