Job Description

Norfolk Community Health & Care (NCH&C) NHS Charitable Fund supports the work of Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust by funding projects that go above and beyond what the NHS can provide. From enhancing patient care to supporting staff wellbeing, our charity helps to make a real difference in the lives of local people.



We are growing our charity team and are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to help us increase income, engage supporters, and develop innovative fundraising initiatives.



The Charity Fundraising Officer (CFO) will play a key role in delivering income growth through the development and implementation of fundraising initiatives, campaigns, and supporter engagement.

This role will focus on both donor recruitment and stewardship, working across individual giving, community fundraising, and corporate partnerships to help achieve income targets and raise awareness of the charity's work.



This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with initiative, creativity, and a passion for making a difference in their local community.

Key Responsibilities



General

1. To work with the Charity Development and Project Manager to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising campaigns and activities aligned with strategic objectives.

2. Produce high quality reports for senior management including performance analysis and recommendations.

3. Develop and maintain strategic relationships with internal stakeholders including Trust staff, suppliers, media, local businesses and community leaders to maximise opportunities for partnership and fundraising.

4. Ensure compliance with all relevant Trust policies and communication team processes and protocols, and comment on processes as required during review.



Fundraising

5. Project manage and lead on the planning, delivery and evaluation of key fundraising campaigns including our 'Caring Together' regular giving programme.

6. Provide expert advice and tailored support to individuals, community groups, and staff fundraising for the charity ensuring excellent support experience.

7. Lead on the stewardship of supporters and donors, ensuring excellent communication, donor recognition and thanking processes to foster long-term relationships.

8. Lead on key fundraising events and initiatives, including third-party events and supporter-led initiatives. From concept and planning through to delivery and post-event evaluation.

9. Oversee procurement, management and maintenance of equipment and materials needed for fundraising activities, ensuring cost effectiveness and appropriate use.

10. Manage the secure handling, reconciliation and banking of cash received from fundraising.

11. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising activities, identifying trends, areas for improvement and opportunities for innovation and growth.

12. Proactively research, approach and build partnerships with local businesses and organisations to secure sponsorship, donations and in-kind support.

13. Researching and writing application bids for small grants or charitable donations as appropriate, producing compelling cases for support.



Supporter Engagement and Communications

14. Develop and implement a communications plan to increase engagement and awareness through charity's website content, social media platforms, email campaigns, and printed publications aligned with brand guidelines and fundraising objectives.

15. Create and manage high-quality, engaging digital content, including multi-media and storytelling, to strengthen supporter relationships and drive fundraising.

16. Design and implement supporter journeys that foster meaningful relationships, enhance donor loyalty and encourage sustained and repeated giving.

17. Produce a range of compelling fundraising and campaign materials, including impact reports, thank you packs and promotional literature.

18. Champion the charity internally, working closely with NHS colleagues and teams to increase staff awareness, engagement and involvement.

19. Support and where appropriate lead on media relations and PR activity in partnership with the Communications Team, including writing press releases and producing high-quality content delivery for external channels.



Administration and General Duties

20. Maintain accurate records on the charity's database, ensuring accurate, timely and GDPR compliant recording of supporter interactions, donations and communications.

21. Ensure all fundraising activity complies with fundraising regulation, NHS Governance and the Code of Fundraising Practice.

22. Actively contribute to team meetings, strategic planning and development sessions.

23. Analyse and report on campaign and fundraising performance using data to make informed decisions and support continuous improvement.

24. Undertake other duties expected in line with the role.

25. Collaborate with colleagues across the Trust and community, contributing to a culture of innovation, inclusivity and continuous improvement.

26. Contribute to the development of the charity's fundraising strategy and annual income plans and impact measurement framework.

27. Identify and propose new income generation opportunities in line with the charity's goal and evolving community needs.
