We are seeking a motivated and organised
Deputy Shop Manager
to support the smooth running of our charity shop. Working closely with the Shop Manager, you will help to oversee daily operations, provide excellent customer service, and support the development of staff and volunteers. On designated days, you will take responsibility for managing the shop independently, ensuring that high standards are maintained at all times.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with retail experience who is looking to step into a supervisory role, contribute to a growing retail operation, and make a positive difference to our charity's work.
Duties
Support the Shop Manager with day-to-day shop operations.
Take responsibility for running the shop in the Manager's absence, ensuring efficiency and smooth operations.
Supervise, motivate, and support staff and volunteers to deliver excellent customer service.
Assist with merchandising and stock presentation to maximise sales and create an appealing shop environment.
Help manage stock control, ensuring shelves and displays are well stocked and rotated.
Contribute to the completion of administrative tasks such as cash handling, scheduling, and reporting.
Promote teamwork and a positive working environment.
Maintain shop standards, including cleanliness, organisation, and customer care.
Experience
Previous retail or supervisory experience is desirable, ideally within a customer-focused environment.
Ability to support and motivate a diverse team of staff and volunteers.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Good organisational skills and the ability to manage tasks independently when required.
Understanding of merchandising and creating effective displays is an advantage.
Basic administrative or cash-handling experience is helpful.
