Role Purpose:
Accountable for developing and managing an outstanding charity shop, achieving sales growth and KPIs by delivering excellent customer service, operational excellence and inspirational leadership.

Key Outputs & Tasks:
Shop Performance & Customer Experience
Achieve sales and income targets through effective stock management, pricing, and merchandising.
Deliver excellent customer service that drives repeat custom and loyalty to Jerry Green Dog Rescue (JGDR).
Maximise Gift Aid sign-ups and income contribution.
Monitor daily takings, banking and financial reporting.
Encourage sustainable practices in stock handling and waste reduction.
Volunteer & Team Development
Recruit, train, and retain a capable volunteer team who contribute to shop success.
Maintain high levels of colleague and volunteer team engagement, confidence, and performance through creating a positive and inclusive environment.
Provide leadership and coaching including line management of the supervisor
Shop Standards & Environment
Ensure the shop maintains excellent standards and is consistently safe, clean, organised, and welcoming.
Maintain security as keyholder.
Ensure compliance, including legislative compliance
Proactively identify and report risks, issues, or maintenance needs.
Business Development & Community Engagement
Contribute to delivery of the shop's annual plan and budget.
Implement new initiatives and operational improvements effectively.
Working with the Shop Supervisor to promote the Charity in the local community, leading on shop activities, events and social media and encourage purposeful public relations to grow shop visibility.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Proven experience in the retail sector and understanding of budgets, cash handling, stock management, etc.
Excellent communication skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to achieve targets and KPI's
Ability to lead and inspire a team
Ability to work as part of a team and independently
Computer literate & confident using tills; able to use electronic communication
Ability to travel when required to cover other shops
Ability to cover holidays and absence
