Job Description


This is a new and exciting role that will support the further development of North West Anglia Hospitals Charity. Working closely with the Charitable Projects Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for growing charity relationships and improving charity administration functions to ensure all stakeholders are kept informed, involved and interested in our work to improve the lives of patients and staff in our hospitals.

  • Work with the Charity Project Manager (CPM) to regularly map the charity\xe2\x80\x99s stakeholder groups, both internal and external.
  • Create and deliver a development plan for each group, summarising how best to maintain existing relationships and develop new relationships.
  • Create and distribute a monthly electronic newsletter for internal and external audiences, which demonstrates the charity\xe2\x80\x99s work and impact.
  • Work with the CPM to establish a new \xe2\x80\x98Corporate Friends\xe2\x80\x99 scheme, to harness existing, and attract new, corporate support.
  • Identify new opportunities for fundraising.
  • Work with our Communications team to provide good news stories to them for promotion, and maintain a regular flow of content on the charity\xe2\x80\x99s social media accounts

To develop relationships with the key stakeholder groups who either already support our Hospitals Charity or to identify and work with stakeholders who would become longer-term charity supporters for North West Anglia Hospitals.

The post-holder will be able to create an imaginative action plan for each of the stakeholder groups, review and collate the details of all donors in the last 12 months (in line with GDPR protocols) and establish a new Corporate Friends scheme, to harness and grow the support of our corporate donors.

He or she will play a key role in ensuring our communications to these stakeholders are influential, informative and engaging.

We are looking for an excellent all-round communicator who can contribute to the development and implementation of increased external relationships to help grow and support our charity.

Working as part of the Trusts\xe2\x80\x99 small charity team, the post-holder will have the opportunity to work with patients, carers, public and other stakeholders when organising events and activities.

Key responsibilities/duties
  • Work with the Charity Project Manager (CPM) to regularly map the charity\xe2\x80\x99s stakeholder groups, both internal and external.
  • Create and deliver a development plan for each group, summarising how best to maintain existing relationships and develop new relationships.
  • Create and distribute a monthly electronic newsletter for internal and external audiences, which demonstrates the charity\xe2\x80\x99s work and impact.
  • Collate and create an excel database of existing donors, showing contact details, contact preferences (in line with GDPR requirements), donations received and donors area of interest.
  • Work with the CPM to establish a new \xe2\x80\x98Corporate Friends\xe2\x80\x99 scheme, to harness existing, and attract new, corporate support.
  • Monitor and record all new donors and donations.
  • Review and improve our process for thanking donors.
  • Identify new opportunities for fundraising.
  • Work with our Communications team to provide good news stories to them for promotion, and maintain a regular flow of content on the charity\xe2\x80\x99s social media accounts
  • Supervise and support our new Charity Volunteers to carry out activities for the Charity team, such as fundraising, promotion and administration tasks.
