Are you passionate about making a difference in our community? Do you have professional skills you'd like to use for social good? The Carers Service is seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our Board of Trustees.

We are particularly looking for new trustees with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

Human Resources: To guide us on best practices in recruitment, retention, people management, and staff development. Business Development: To help shape our strategic growth, partnerships, and sustainability. Digital Marketing: To support us in improving our online presence and engaging wider audiences. Fundraising: To help diversify income streams, enhance donor engagement, and develop effective fundraising strategies.
Our mission is to identify, engage, empower and support carers throughout their journey. We are dedicated to providing integrated and personalised services that meet the diverse needs of carers in our community

Duties



Provide strategic direction and oversight to ensure the organisation's objectives are met effectively. Participate actively in board meetings, offering insights and guidance on organisational policies and programmes. Assist in developing and implementing fundraising strategies, including donor engagement and relationship management. Support marketing initiatives aimed at raising awareness of the organisation's mission and activities. Foster strong relationships with community partners, supporters, and other stakeholders through effective communication and public relations efforts. Contribute to organising events, campaigns, or outreach programmes that promote the organisation's goals. Ensure compliance with legal requirements and uphold high standards of governance and accountability.

Skills



Experience or knowledge in marketing strategies relevant to non-profit organisations. Strong relationship management skills with an ability to engage diverse audiences. Proven ability in fundraising activities, including grant applications and donor cultivation. Excellent customer service skills with a professional approach to stakeholder engagement. Effective public relations skills to promote the organisation's reputation positively within the community. Organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Demonstrated leadership qualities with a commitment to ethical governance and organisational integrity. This role is ideal for individuals eager to utilise their skills in a meaningful way while contributing to organisational success through strategic oversight and community engagement.
