Domna is an energy efficiency (retrofit) service for housing portfolios. We combine software and on-site services to offer an integrated advisory and delivery service to Housing Associations, Local Authorities, institutional private asset owners, and private landlords. Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and technically skilled

Building Surveyor

to support our growing retrofit and energy efficiency projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in building construction and practical on-site experience. We particularly welcome applicants who are either RICS-qualified or hold Retrofit Coordinator accreditation - however, we are happy to support the right candidate through the training required to achieve the Retrofit Coordinator qualification.

This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring our projects meet high-quality standards, remain compliant with regulatory requirements, and align with PAS 2035 principles. The successful candidate will work closely with our design, coordination, and delivery teams and must be confident operating on live construction sites.

This role reports to Technical Director & Head of Coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct site inspections

before, during, and after

the installation of Energy Efficiency Measures (EEMs). Validate that retrofit works align with

PAS 2035 specifications

, approved design documentation, and

relevant building regulations

. Identify, document, and follow up on

defects or non-conformances

, supporting their resolution through coordination with contractors and Retrofit Coordinators. Act as a liaison between site teams and the office-based design and coordination teams, promoting quality, compliance, and consistency. Support the delivery of high-performing retrofit solutions by applying a sound understanding of

construction detailing and building performance

. Maintain clear, professional records of inspections, defects, and resolutions in line with

audit and funding requirements

. Demonstrate familiarity with relevant Building Regulations, particularly

Parts L, F, B, and C

.

Person Specification:

Essential

RICS membership

or equivalent professional qualification. Strong technical knowledge of building construction. Practical on-site experience within a construction or surveying environment. Familiarity with site inspection or retrofit software tools. Excellent attention to detail and a structured approach to quality assurance. Strong communication and organisational skills. Willingness to travel regularly for site visits and inspections.

Desirable

Accredited

Retrofit Coordinator

(PAS 2035). Training can be provided. Experience working in

retrofit, housing, or energy efficiency

sectors.
