We are now looking for a
dedicated and passionate Chef
to join our Catering Team. This is a rewarding opportunity to use your skills to make a genuine difference to patients, families, staff, and volunteers through the preparation of high-quality, nutritious food.
About the Role
As part of our Catering Team, you will play a key role in delivering an exceptional catering service across the hospice.
Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing wholesome, well-balanced, and nutritious meals for patients, families, staff, and visitors
Supporting a catering service that also includes external events to help raise vital funds for the charity
Promoting high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene
Ensuring the kitchen remains clean, safe, and compliant with all health and safety regulations
Supervising and supporting volunteers appropriately
Managing operational needs effectively within budget
About You
We are looking for someone who brings both skill and heart to their work. You will have:
NVQ Level 2 in Catering/Cookery (or equivalent)
Food Hygiene certification
A good working knowledge of Food Hygiene, HACCP, COSHH, Health & Safety, and allergen regulations
Previous experience in a similar role
Strong organisational and time-management skills
A team-focused approach with a positive attitude and sense of fun
Excellent attention to detail
