Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef in daily food preparation and cooking tasks.
Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to recipes.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with regulations.
Help manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
Collaborate with team members to create innovative menu items that delight guests.
Train new kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is clean, well-maintained, and used safely.
Assist in planning and executing special events or catering services as required.
Requirements
Proven experience in food production within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality standards.
A passion for cooking and creativity in menu development.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
