We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for food preparation, and a comprehensive understanding of kitchen operations. The Assistant Chef will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and assisting in the creation of innovative dishes.
Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing a variety of menu items with high standards of quality and presentation
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training new team members and delegating tasks effectively
Oversee food production processes to ensure efficiency, consistency, and adherence to safety regulations
Support food safety protocols by maintaining cleanliness, proper storage, and handling of ingredients
Contribute to the development of new recipes and menu ideas to enhance customer satisfaction
Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained properly and report any faults or issues promptly
Assist in managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and controlling wastage to optimise resources
Serve as a role model for professionalism and teamwork within the kitchen environment
Qualifications
Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management within a hospitality or restaurant setting
Supervising experience is highly desirable, demonstrating leadership capabilities in a fast-paced environment
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Good communication skills to effectively lead and motivate team members
Familiarity with food production techniques, culinary trends, and restaurant operations
Previous experience in hospitality or serving roles is advantageous but not essential
A passion for culinary arts with a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service
