Overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team at Tuckton Tea Gardens. The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background and a flair for creating exceptional dishes that delight our guests. As a Chef, you will play a pivotal role in the overall success of our restaurant by assisting in leading the kitchen staff, overseeing food preparation, and ensuring the highest standards of food production, presentation and hygiene. Your leadership skills will help foster a positive working environment while maintaining the efficiency of kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage kitchen operations, ensuring all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation. Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering teamwork and collaboration among team members. Oversee food preparation and production processes, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Create innovative menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and cater to diverse dietary requirements. Monitor inventory levels, ordering supplies as necessary to maintain optimal stock levels. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food hygiene standards at all times. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery during busy periods.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Chef in a restaurant or hospitality setting, with strong culinary skills. Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in supervising and managing kitchen teams. Excellent knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and presentation styles. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. A passion for food and hospitality, with an eagerness to help others develop their skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required by the business needs. Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications would be advantageous but are not mandatory.
