Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our small and friendly team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and preparation, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills and a commitment to food safety and quality. As a Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious homecooked dishes in our family-run Cafe that's loved by locals & visitors alike

Responsibilities

Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support in food preparation and cooking techniques. Develop and implement menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean, organised kitchen environment. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction. Assist in training new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, equipment usage, and safety protocols. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed. Help create a positive work atmosphere by fostering teamwork and encouraging creativity among the culinary team.

Experience

Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role within a professional kitchen environment. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary arts, and food safety practices. Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience supervising kitchen staff. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional dining experiences to guests. Culinary qualifications or certifications are advantageous but not essential.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 13.00-14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
