, and we're looking for a passionate and experienced
Chef
to join our team. This is due to open between December and January (subject to CQC registration).
We know that an army marches on its stomach - and while our residents may not be marching anymore,
nutrition is just as crucial to their health and wellbeing
as it's ever been. That's why we're looking for someone who truly loves food, has a creative flair in the kitchen, and is experienced in preparing meals for individuals with
specialist dietary requirements
.
As our
Chef
, you'll play a vital role in ensuring that our residents enjoy a
varied, seasonal menu
that caters to their nutritional needs. You'll have the freedom to get creative with dishes, mix things up, and create meals that not only nourish but also bring joy. And while we encourage creativity, you'll need to consider dietary requirements at all times, ensuring every meal is both delicious and suitable.
You'll have control over your
stock ordering
and
menu planning
, with the responsibility to manage budgets and maintain stock levels, all while adhering to
health and safety regulations
. Working in care means your culinary talents have a deeper purpose - you'll be helping to keep our residents healthy and happy, and building meaningful connections with those you're cooking for.
You will need:
to be motivated, reliable and have excellent communication skills
be able to work well in a team
to respect and care for all residents as individuals, ensuring that their personal choices and preferences are respected and that individual dignity is respected at all times
to perform delegated tasks as instructed by the Home Manager so as to promote improvements in service .
Qualifications
NVQ/QCF Level 3 or equivalent catering certificate
To hold intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate
If you do not have the required criteria but have knowledge of a catering/kitchen service and have a genuine interest in working within a care environment, we will be happy to work with you to help you become an excellent Cook!
