Working under award-winning Executive Chef Matthew Briddon, we are seeking a dedicated and skilled Chef de Partie to join our dynamic culinary team. You will be based at the newly reopened The Inn at Freshford, after its recent purchase by the Iford Manor Estate, which now comprises 2 pubs as well as the Iford Manor Kitchen restaurant and cafe. The pub will focus on a gastro pub menu with food prepared from scratch and often sourced from the adjacent farm on the Estate itself.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment, ensuring all food safety standards are met. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about food preparation and culinary arts to develop their skills within a reputable establishment. The ideal candidate will have previous kitchen experience and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional service.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes and quality standards
Assist in meal preparation, ensuring timely delivery during busy service periods
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including workstations and utensils
Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
Support the team with food plating and presentation to ensure visual appeal
Restock ingredients and supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to deliver efficient service during busy hours
Experience
Previous experience in a restaurant or catering environment is highly desirable
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices in a professional kitchen
Experience with meal preparation and serving in a fast-paced setting is advantageous
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
