Our fabulous restaurant, 'The Palm House', requires an experienced Chef de Partie to join our growing team. The restaurant is adjacent to a popular retail outlet and as such benefits from almost guaranteed footfall.

90% of our dishes are prepared from fresh ingredients, ideal for any candidate wishing maintain their culinary skills.

The Restaurant is currently open 9.30 - 5.00 every day, therefore weekend availability is a must.

We also have private hire bookings for some evenings, providing grazing table, buffet or full evening service. Therefore, some evening availability would be advantageous.

As a Chef de Partie you will be responsible for:

Preparation and cooking of food, following presentation and recipe specifications Assisting in all areas of the kitchen for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and private hire functions. Ability to work and act on own initiative and be self motivated, whilst at the same time mentoring our more junior team members. Ensuring the kitchen areas are clean and tidy, assisting with the cleaning and organisation of kitchen units and equipment Maintaining strict food hygiene and health & safety standards, recording food temperatures etc. Monitoring and ordering of stock. Providing excellent service to customers and staff.
The Ideal Candidate will have:-

Extensive previous kitchen experience within hospitality. Relevant NVQ or equivalent qualifications, including Food Hygiene Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Excellent ability to communicate effectively The ability to meet strict hygiene standards Be self motivated and able to work under your own initiative The right to live and work in the UK.
Starting salary includes an equal share of the generous TRONC scheme. Salary increase will then be further reviewed 6 months from employment, based on performance.
