We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef de Partie to join our culinary team at The Royal Oak North Gorley, with a focus on food safety and hospitality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts and a commitment to food safety and quality. As a CDP, you will play a vital role in meal preparation and ensuring that every dish meets our high standards of excellence. This position requires the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a clean and organised kitchen.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
Assist in meal preparation, including chopping, slicing, and marinating ingredients.
Ensure all food safety protocols are followed, including proper storage and handling of ingredients.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including workstations and equipment.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
Monitor food quality throughout the cooking process, making adjustments as necessary.
Take shared responsibility for food safety, contributing to the effective maintenance of the food safety management system and the required due diligence recording.
Assist with inventory management by reporting low stock levels of ingredients.
Participate in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety practices.
Requirements
Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant or similar kitchen environment is preferred.
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety regulations.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in meal preparation.
Team player with good communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
A passion for cooking and creating delicious meals that delight customers.
