Chef De Partie - daytime bistro cafe (part time or full time)



We are recruiting an experienced and committed CDP for our thriving food led business in the village of Hartley Wintney, Hampshire. The Courtyard is a quality, high-end cafe with three rooms and a large garden terrace.

About the Courtyard:


The cafe is normally open seven days a week between 9am and 5pm serving all day dining experience; brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, special events and occasional additional opening for private events.

The kitchen is well equipped catering equipment with an open plan kitchen at the cafe and additional kitchen space elsewhere allowing plenty of space to conduct daily preparation and service. With a strong emphasis on good quality and where possible local ingredients, the main focus is to produce seasonally inspired menus using traditional cooking techniques.

The food offering is a pleasing mix of both traditional British and continental dishes and delivered by a professional high-quality service.

Candidate Role:


The average working day is roughly 8am until 5.30pm and over 5 days with two days off a week. (candidate will need to be flexible on hours where there are private events or evening business)
Essential for candidate to have worked previously in a fresh food kitchen
Uphold dish specifications requirements
Presentable and able to work in an open kitchen environment
Report directly to Head Chef and Cafe Manager
Assist in food planning, preparation, and service
Maintain a hygienic and safe working environment
Deliver businesses quality standards and company goals to grow and deliver quality hospitality service
Minimise wastage of ingredients, and insure fresh ingredients are cared for
Ensure stock rotation procedures are adhered to, including stock ordering and managing suppliers
Recognises that customers are a businesses' bloodline and part of the role is to have interaction with customers and front of house staff

Ideal Candidate:


Experience in working in quality, fresh food sites
CDP experience required
Be tidy and efficient worker, and fine eye for detail
Experience managing and be able to work in all kitchen areas; larder, grill & sauces, desserts and support on wash-up when required
Be able to work independently and as part of a team
A driving licence is essential to travel to location

As CDP you will be happy to run and maintain your own section, but also have the ability to effectively communicate with all members of the team. The successful CDP must have a passion for food and is capable of cooking to a high standard and becoming a valuable member of the talented team.

Pay: 26,000.00-27,500.00 per year
