We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Chef de Rang/Section waiter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing exceptional service and guidance to enhance the dining experience for our guests. As a Chef de Rang you will be looking after up to 5 tables with a possible total of 15 guests, taking food and beverage orders and providing constant attention to detail.
Responsibilities of a Chef de Rang:
Managing a station:
Oversees a specific section of the dining room, ensuring guests in that area receive top-quality service.
Guest service and interaction:
Welcomes guests, presents menus, takes orders, and ensures customer satisfaction throughout the meal.
Liaising with kitchen and service staff:
Coordinates with the Sommelier*, and kitchen team to ensure smooth, timely service.
Food presentation and service:
May perform tableside preparations or finishing touches.
Knowledge of menu and wine list:
Maintains detailed understanding of dishes, ingredients, allergens, and wine pairings to assist and advise guests.
Maintaining service standards:
Upholds the restaurant's standards of etiquette, sequence of service, and presentation.
Setting up and clearing the station:
Ensures mise en place, table settings, and cleanliness are maintained before, during, and after service.
Sales and upselling:
Promotes daily specials, wines, and premium menu items to enhance the guest experience and increase revenue.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Chef de Rang or Section Waiter within the hospitality or restaurant industry.
Familiarity with food safety practices is essential to ensure compliance with health regulations.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with guests and staff alike.
A passion for hospitality and catering that enhances the overall dining experience.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
