Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, batter, and cook various sizes of
cod fillets
(Regular, Large, Super Jumbo) to order
Cook high-volume items including
chips
,
fish bites
,
fish fingers
,
chicken tenders
, and other fried sides
Manage fryer temperature, oil quality, and cleanliness to ensure consistent food quality and safety
Coordinate cooking times for fish and sides to ensure timely, fresh plating
Monitor portion sizes and product presentation according to company standards
Maintain a clean and organized frying station throughout the shift
Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and allergen protocols
Assist in restocking fryer ingredients and supplies (batter mix, fish, sides, oil, etc.)
Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house teams for smooth service flow
Skills & Experience:
Previous experience working with deep fryers in a fast-paced kitchen is essential
Knowledge of frying best practices (e.g., oil management, timing, crispness)
Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety regulations
Ability to work quickly and efficiently during peak service times
Team player with good communication and problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements:
Able to stand for extended periods
Comfortable working in hot kitchen conditions
Able to lift and carry heavy items such as oil containers or fish boxes (up to 20kg)
