We are looking for a Weekend Chef/Cafe Manager to operate our new cafe at Penistone Leisure Centre. You could be operating both the kitchen and front of house alone or with other staff.
You will organise daily operations, both front and back of house, delivering hot meals, snacks and home-made bakes. Responsibilities include ordering supplies, setting menus and pricing, and ensuring we meet all of our regulatory requirements. To be successful in this role you should have experience of managing a kitchen and front of house. You will be commercially aware and available to work during centre opening hours, mostly during weekends and some holidays.
Pay: 13/hr
Hours: 9/wk initially, possibility of additional hours to suit business needs

Manage day-to-day operations of the cafe
Planning, preparing and cooking meals including hot food, sandwiches, light snacks and baking. You will utilise fresh, seasonal ingredients.
Understanding of managing allergens.
Managing stock, purchasing of food and kitchen equipment
Experience of managing food profit margins and a budget. Determining portion sizes and appropriate selling prices.
Recording of daily, weekly and monthly income and costs.
Maintain a hygienic kitchen, ensuring we meet hygiene standards and regulatory requirements and that appropriate records are completed.
Store food in compliance with safety practices.
Train and supervise a kitchen assistant / waiting staff.
Deliver excellent customer service

Qualifications:
- An appropriate catering qualification - 706/1 and 2 or NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation or equivalent (e)
