We are looking for an enthusiastic cook or chef to join our team to cover for maternity leave. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in meal preparation and food safety, with a flair for great presentation and maintaining high standards of food quality.
Hours and days are negotiable. Weekdays and some daytime weekend work will be required. Hours are normally 8:30am-5:00pm (9:30am-4:pm on Sundays).
Duties
Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established menu specifications.
Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to plan menus and develop new recipes that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
Assist in managing inventory, ordering supplies, and minimising waste through efficient food preparation practices.
Monitor kitchen operations to ensure timely service and quality control of all dishes served.
Experience
Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant or kitchen environment.
Strong knowledge of meal preparation, food preparation techniques, and culinary best practices.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and hygiene standards is essential.
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
