Job Summary


We are hiring an experienced and energetic chef/ cafe cook with proven chef skills to join our fantastic team.

This is a Part time position offering an excellent hourly salary.

Rascal Ranch is open Monday-Sunday 10:00-18:00, Hours of work will be 9.30am - 5.30pm and will include weekend`s. We do not require you to work split shifts.

Within the Rascal Ranch Cafe all our food is made to order, we offer a range of cooked sandwiches, hot food and daily specials to run alongside our menu We are looking for a chef to work within our successful cafe kitchen assisting in producing a very high level of food.

Applicants should have 1 year minimum experience in service of fresh food produced in a fast paced environment. You will be expected to work well within a team and have a real passion for your work.

Any candidate will be expected to become proficient in all areas of our menus.

The role does require work weekends, though unlike most venues we offer flexible rotas.

In this role you will:

Already have good experience in a high-quality kitchen (1 year minimum) Level 2 food hygiene certificate (minimum) Be flexible to work on all sections as required consistency to work alone Work at speed

About you



You will hold excellent communication and people skills and have the ability to work under pressure whilst using your creativity in preparing meals. You will be able to think about everything at once, and to understand and know what each section of the kitchen is working on is a skill in itself! You will be working in the home of the individuals you are cooking for, allowing you to get to know their likes and dislikes. You must have the ability to cook to budgets. Be able to maintain a positive working environment and motivate the kitchen team to deliver excellent results.
Cafe Cook:

Cleans food preparation areas as determined by law and company policies

Makes adjustments to food items to accommodate guests with allergies or specific diet concerns Manages other employees in the kitchen (Front of house team when they come in to wash etc. Acts as liaison to front-of-house employees to ensure proper food service temperature Seasons food according to recipes or company needs Orders ingredients and spices as needed Operates various kitchen appliance such as a blender, oven, grill, or stand mixer Portions, arranges, and garnishes food based on client preference Assists other cooks during the food assembly process Prepares any necessary sauces or accompaniments before meal service begins Cleans up after business hours Communicates with owner about how to improve meal service
Salary dependent on experience. 12.30 - 14 per hour

As a full / part time chef at Rascal Ranch you will be responsible for managing the efficiency, hygiene and safety, Maintaining the correct HACCP principals in all catering areas and ensuring all legislative standards are met. You will be preparing, cooking and serving meals for customers. You will help take stock of ingredients and create new recipes to keep the menu fresh!
