Chemistry Support Technician



Chemring Energetics UK is a global business providing a range of equipment based on energetic materials for defence, civil defence and key commercial customers.

As our new Chemistry Support Technician, you'll help set up and run tests, document and analyse results, and keep sample logistics running smoothly. Key Responsibilities:



Carry out all work in full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, company policies, and procedures. Proactively identify and report any unsafe acts or conditions using the Near Miss System, helping to uphold a strong safety culture. Ensure all tasks align with relevant safety and governance requirements. Conduct laboratory testing and maintain accurate, detailed records of results. Perform analysis of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products, in line with training and competency requirements. Coordinate and track sample logistics, including delivery, collection, receipt, and proper logging of materials. Comply with area licences and ensure safe operation within laboratory and storage areas. Help maintain calibration systems for laboratory equipment. Carry out general administrative duties to support efficient lab operations. Assist with the safe handling, segregation, and disposal of laboratory waste. Transport chemicals, solvents, or other hazardous materials safely between labs, storage areas, and workspaces as required. Support storage, sampling, and analysis of site-related environmental samples. Keep accurate inventory records of chemicals, solvents, and reference materials. Open and close laboratory areas, ensuring equipment and workspaces are prepared for safe use. Assist with decommissioning or reorganisation of laboratory spaces when necessary. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organisation throughout laboratory areas

Qualifications & Experience:



IT skills and proficiency in MS Office. Knowledge of manufacture, storage, use, and disposal of hazardous substances including explosives. Experience preparing safety and quality documentation.

Desirable:



HNC in Chemistry discipline.
