We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse specialising in Chemotherapy to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to individuals undergoing chemotherapy treatment. This role requires a strong understanding of patient needs, the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, and a commitment to delivering exceptional nursing care in a supportive environment.
Duties
Administer chemotherapy and other medications as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Monitor patients for adverse reactions and provide immediate intervention as necessary.
Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional health, documenting findings accurately.
Educate patients and their families about chemotherapy treatments, potential side effects, and self-care strategies.
Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualised care plans.
Maintain accurate records of patient treatments and progress in compliance with regulatory standards.
Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with advancements in oncology nursing practices.
Qualifications
Valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Registered Nurse.
Proven experience in patient care, particularly within an oncology or chemotherapy setting is preferred.
Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology related to cancer treatment.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a compassionate approach towards patients.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in clinical documentation.
SACT trained and able to administer Chemotherapy related drugs.
