Job Description


We\'re looking for a Chief Marketing Officer, Lions (Division) to join our team in London as part of our Leadership Function.

Your Team: As the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) you will operate across the LIONS Division, including the Cannes Lions, WARC and Contagious brand, leading the marketing function that includes LIONS Intelligence (subscription) Events (delegate passes, awards entries, sponsorship)) and Advisory (consultancy services and training). You will directly lead a high-performing brand, PR, creative and customer management team and will oversee product and pillar teams in partnership with the relevant P&L owner.

Your Role: As the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) you will power the ambitious growth plans of our brands and our business. As leaders in the Marketing industry, we passionately believe in its ability to deliver results and we need a full-funnel marketing leader to enable that.

You will develop the overall brand, marketing and proposition strategy for the business and work closely with the product and pillar leads to translate this into clear plans for each business line.

You will be part of the LIONS Division leadership team and will contribute to the vision and strategy for the wider group whilst ensuring your own team reflects the culture and values of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Creation and execution of the brand, marketing and proposition plan for LIONS Division and business lines to achieve agreed performance targets, including Cannes Lions, WARC, Contagious and other portfolio brands and products

Leadership, development and retention of a high-performing team of marketing and creative professionals to achieve agreed people engagement goals

Supporting the development and execution of the wider LIONS Division business strategy, plan and culture in collaboration with the wider leadership team

Development and execution of a clear branding strategy that connects the LIONS Division brands together but still enables them to operate independently where necessary

Driving innovation and creativity in all aspects of the marketing programme across the organisation

Development and execution of a performance marketing plan - together with business pillar and product marketing leads - to achieve business goals

Development of a consistent set of benchmarks, KPIs and supporting measurement protocols to enable clear tracking of performance

Your Experience

Excellent people leadership skills

Exceptional stakeholder management skills

Very good communicator, calm under stress and able to deal with ambiguity, able to bring people together towards a common goal

Good understanding of brand marketing and strategy

Knowledge of, and experience in, the advertising and marketing industry is a plus
