Chief Property Officer, leading on a wide portfolio of commercial, operational and agricultural property. Excellent opportunity for an experienced property professional to direct, develop and manage all Estates, Asset Management and professional property services. This role reports to the Deputy Chief Executive and has overall responsibility for the Property function, so offers great exposure to senior leadership and a real chance to make a difference to property strategy. You will lead and deliver the full range of professional property services, managing the multi-disciplinary team of around 22 individuals, ensuring innovation and quality are key in your delivery methods. You will have direct management of a portfolio of non-domestic tenanted properties and Haverfordwest airport; along with delivery of the Council\'s Strategic Asset Management Plan.

You will be responsible for estate management, providing professional advice for projects, keeping records and managing the fixed asset register, looking after the asset valuations programme, and have an understanding of agricultural legislation and property and land management styles in relation to holding a country farm estate. This role will see you create successful partnerships and collaborative working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, across a range of priorities, as well as balancing financial budgetary management responsibilities.

  • You might be stepping up into a management role, or you might have extensive experience, someone who aligns with the Council\'s sense of purpose: "Working together, improving lives" would be a great asset in this role.
  • Professionally qualified (MRICS or equivalent/higher)
  • Experience of Strategic Asset Management in a commercial and/or agricultural environment.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Significant property expertise, a team player and a supportive manager
  • The role is offered on a hybrid basis working from home and the office.
Pembrokeshire County Council has responsibility for nearly \xc2\xa31 billion of assets. There is a significant range of property and land, making their portfolio varied and interesting. With a population of around 122,000 and around 7 million visitors a year including day trippers, there is plenty going on! The portfolio comprises around 5,000 acres of farmland, a number of schools, operational council buildings, a range of retail and commercial, leisure centres, an airport, the Celtic Freeport as well as housing stock which is managed by the housing team. Pembrokeshire has been successful securing Levelling Up Funding, and has a number of buildings of historical significance which provide both ongoing revenue and development opportunities.
