The Role
This is a key role within Planixs. The CTO will direct and drive the use of technology across the business. The role has a broad area of responsibility that includes:
Business wide technical environments and infrastructure
Development architecture and tools
External and Internal Service and Support Management
Operation Architecture Strategy and Roadmap
ISO 27001, Infosec and security compliance of solutions and operations
Supporting Sales processes including RFI / RFP responses in the areas of operations technology, security and ISO compliance
Hosting cost base management and approval processes.
The role has the following objectives:
Deliver excellence through clear target definition and on-going improvement across teams.
Inform and then meeting the SLA / OLA commitments for on premise and Cloud clients.
Ensure appropriate and timely technology and architecture choices and delivery against agreed timelines.
Identify new technology and innovation to strengthen our propositions.
Ensure Infosec best practice is followed and maintained across the business.
Successful and timely support for sales processes.
Ensure efficient hosting and infrastructure delivery to support client margin.
The role reports into the COO and requires interaction, coordination, and direction across the business to be successful.
You will be required to engage teams to ensure that development methods, architecture standards and governance can successfully support the product development roadmap, ensure delivery of existing and new service agreements, ensure that all technical environments and all associated processes and procedures are fit to meet a rapidly maturing market.
You will need to develop detailed working knowledge of the design, build and live operation processes to enable you to be able to advise and drive the technology approach and direction.
Working closely with sales and client implementation teams you will be expected to lead prospect and client key conversations on technical strategy, Infosec, solution decisions, and to provide executive cover in troubleshooting of live support incidents as needed.
The working environment is one of change as we continue to grow our brand and this role looks to ensure a structured approach is followed in what technology we use, how we use it and how we get the most out of it.
You will be based primarily in our Manchester office with potential for occasional travel. There is the possibility to consider remote working for this role if a willingness to attend the office when required, usually twice a month with overnight stay, can be accommodated.

Previous working experience as a CTO / Head of Technology or equivalent within a software company
Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or similar relevant field
In-depth knowledge of systems architecture, design and development
Knowledge of go to market support helpful.
Strong technology operational background within ISO / SOC2 frameworks
Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
Excellent organisational and time-management skills
Effective negotiation and vendor management skills
