Job Description


We are looking for a Chief Technology Officer to lead our technology strategy across the Group for existing foundation systems and our large Modernisation/transformation programme of work. We are a successful and growing organisation, and this role will be at the heart of the transformation, driving our technology vision.

What you will be doing

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the Group\'s technology vision, in alignment with business goals, this includes helping to steer us through our current journey at the start of technology transformation.

This role will be at the heart of transformation and driving the strategy for tech transformation, driving our technology direction through and beyond the course of our technology transformation programme.

Your responsibilities will include\xe2\x80\xa6

  • Setting a vision for how technology will be used in the Group, shaping the short- and long-term IT strategy and roadmaps.
  • Working with the Chief Transformation Officer to oversee and ensure alignment between Modernisation and Legacy Architectures.
  • Support and contribute to the Modernisation strategy, ensuring due diligence and appropriate levels of governance are applied across all technology-based solutions.
  • Engage and collaborate with modernisation vendors and system integrators to enable conformity with architectural standards and convergence between old and new technology estates.
  • Ensure that all technology solutions support the Business\xe2\x80\x99 ESG agenda and strategy and meet all ESG regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and mature an Enterprise Architecture practice to support the evolution and lifecycle management of technology across the Group.
  • Developing and communicating the IT technology strategy in alignment with the overall Business and Transformation strategies. Work closely with Business teams to understand their needs around productivity tools and help bring these on to the IT change agenda.
In return for your commitment

We offer a base salary dependent on experience of up to \xc2\xa3180,000 and a competitive benefits package including:
  • \xc2\xa39,000 car allowance
  • Discretionary annual bonus opportunity of up to 60%
  • Annual LTIP opportunity of up to 75%.

Could you be the one?

We are looking for talented individuals who have the experience and knowledge set out below:
  • Substantial relevant IT work experience, including shaping IT strategy and roadmaps within a large organisation.
  • An ability to influence peers and senior stakeholders up to Executive Committee level.
  • Significant experience leading technical teams.
  • Experience working at CTO level or in a similar senior IT leadership role.
  • Demonstrable technological skill set and experience with exposure to varied technology stacks, which includes but is not limited to; .NET, Java, RPG, SQL Server, DB2, Windows and Cloud based technologies.
  • A financial services background and/or understanding of regulations would be of benefit.
  • An ability to keep abreast of latest and emerging technology such as AI, machine learning & RPA, and how to apply it to our business.
