We are seeking a reliable and organised Child Contact Centre Coordinator to oversee the smooth operation of our child contact centres across the country. This is a zero-hours, temporary position ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about supporting families and children during contact sessions.
The Centre Coordinator will be responsible for managing day-to-day centre activities, coordinating staff rotas, liaising with families, and ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and procedures. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong organisational abilities, and the flexibility to work across multiple locations as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Staff Coordination:
- Recruit, interview, and assist with hiring centre staff including contact supervisors and support workers.
- Create, manage, and update staff rotas to ensure adequate cover for contact sessions.
- Provide induction and ongoing support to centre staff.
Centre Operations:
- Oversee daily operations of the contact centre(s), ensuring a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for children and families.
- Ensure all sessions run smoothly and on schedule.
- Maintain accurate records of sessions, attendance, and incidents.
- Compliance and Quality:
- Ensure all activities comply with safeguarding policies, health and safety regulations, and organisational standards.
- Conduct regular checks and audits to maintain quality and safety standards.
- Report any concerns or incidents promptly to management.
- Communication and Liaison:
- Act as the primary point of contact between families, staff, and external agencies.
- Handle enquiries and resolve issues professionally and sensitively.
- Support families with information about the centre's processes and services.
- Administration:
- Maintain up-to-date documentation including staff records, session logs, and compliance reports.
- Assist with the preparation of reports for management and funding bodies as required.
Person Specification:
- Experience in a supervisory or coordination role, ideally within social care, childcare, or a related sector.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
- Flexibility to travel nationally and work varied hours as needed.
- Proficient with basic IT and administrative tasks.
Additional Information:
- This is a zero-hours contract, starting off which will them move to a permanent contract on completion of successfully passing probation.
- Salary is in line with national regulations.
