Are you passionate about supporting young childrens development and making a real difference in their early learning journey? The Prevention and Inclusion Early Years team is looking for several enthusiastic and dedicated Early Years Child Development Practitioners to join our team across Newport. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic team making a real impact in the lives of children and families throughout Newport.
What Were Looking For:
A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Early Years, Health, or Education
NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and Maths
A commitment to delivering high-quality, practical support tailored to the individual needs of children with developmental needs
About the Role:
Working as part of a supportive and experienced team, under the guidance of our Early Years Team Leaders, you will help enhance developmental outcomes for children across a variety of Flying Start settings. We are seeking to appoint a candidate who is:
An enthusiastic and self-motivated practitioner who is reliable and conscientious
A caring practitioner who places the wellbeing of children at the heart of their practice
Experience of working with children who have developmental needs, demonstrating the ability to think creatively when meeting individual needs
Excellent communication skills with team members, children, parents and other professionals
Having knowledge of the ALN & Educational Tribunal (Wales) Act 2018 and the ALN Code of Practice in Wales 2023 would be beneficial
The post will be Monday-Friday 35 hours per week, 39 Weeks per year.
The post commences as soon as possible, on a fixed term basis until 31st March 2026.The post holder(s) will be required to take holidays outside of term time.
The recruitment process will be undertaken in early September 2025 and will involve an observation within an Intervention group and a formal interview session.
The observation will take place in a different venue, and potentially on a different day to the interview.Please be aware we do not allow notes to be brought into to the interview.
