Child Wellbeing Practitioner
Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic qualified Child Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) to work in our new Milton Keynes Wellbeing Service. The post provides a lot of opportunities for growth within a supportive and welcoming environment. The candidate will:
- Deliver timely CWP interventions with children and young people (CYP) who experience mild to moderate emotional wellbeing, or mental health difficulties
- Whilst taking an holistic and systemic approach by supporting parent/carers, and professionals working with children and young people
- Have the opportunity to develop within the CYP-PT framework e.g. potential for senior CWP/supervision training
- Be a part of an empathic and forward thinking service that appreciates all staff and be influential in shaping services for CYP and young adults
- We are particularly interested in applications from candidates with skills / experience in running music / sport or creative groups.
The Service
The CHUMS Milton Keynes Emotional Wellbeing Service is funded by the Milton Keynes County Council following a successful early intervention pilot. The team will provide early intervention and prevention support, focussing on community engagement for children and young people aged 7 to 18 (and up to 25 for those with a SEND). The service will integrate with other local organisations (e.g. Mental Health in Schools Teams or MHSTs) services to minimise duplication of support, whilst retaining client choice.
Staff will be based in the community and provide a hybrid model of:
- Drop-ins/consultations
- Workshops - Groups
- 1-1 The service will need to work closely with their communities to identify and their support needs.
Working hours are 37.5 hours a week, part time hours may be considered.
