Job Overview

We are seeking an apprentice to join our small friendly independent setting in the Sonning Common area of Oxfordshire. You will need to be willing to commit to completing the relevant training course and become a qualified team member. Working as part of a small team to support children to grown and learn through play.

Duties

Supervise and engage with children in a safe and caring manner. Plan and implement educational activities that promote learning and development. Undertake a work based training course and commit to completing this within the time frame agreed with the training provider. You must be willing to complete assignments in your own time to gain the qualification needed. Ensure the well-being of children by maintaining a clean and organised environment. Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns. Foster a positive atmosphere that encourages social interaction and personal growth.

Qualifications and Skills

Ideally GCSE's in Maths and English however functional skills qualifications can be obtained along side the childcare qualification if you do not already have GCSE's grade C/4 Strong communication skills in English Ability to educate children through creative play and structured activities. No criminal convictions and able to obtain a clear DBS check (this will be paid for by your employer if you do not have one already) Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children. First Aid certification is desirable but if you do not have one you will be required to complete this training as soon as possible after starting your employment with us.

This job is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974, all employees will be required to undertake a DBS check

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Apprenticeship

Pay: 7.55-12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 45 per week
