Level 2 Childcare Apprenticeship - Butterflies Day Nursery Woodlands




Shoots Training are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individual to complete their Level 2 Childcare Apprenticeship at Butterflies Day Nursery Woodlands, Brigdewater.


Our nursery at Woodlands Business Park is conveniently located just off the Bristol Road. Our purpose-built nursery provides a stimulating and engaging environment for children aged 3 months to 5 years to explore, learn and develop. Our nursery has been rated "Good" by Ofsted and has a great team of staff.


The nursery is open each weekday from 7.30am to 5.30pm (we are closed on Bank Holidays) for 51 weeks of the year - we are closed between Christmas and New Year.


Your duties and responsibilities will include;




Adhering to the Policies & Procedures of Butterflies Day Nurseries and compliance with the Children Act, Health and Safety legislation and within the guidelines of Ofsted/CSIW and the National Standards. Ensuring confidentiality is maintained in the nursery. Working as part of a team Ensure highest level of cleanliness and hygiene is carried out within the nursery. To work closely with the parent / carers informing them about the nursery and exchanging information about children's progress and encouraging parent's involvement. The care and supervision of the children with regard to their physical, emotional and intellectual needs. Working with the Nursery Nurse on planning and preparation of activities, to meet children's individual needs, liaising with parents and negotiating working targets ensuring effective communication within the nursery. Offering all children equal opportunities with regard to their religious persuasion, racial origins, gender, disabilities, cultural or linguistic background; in particular, challenge situations where racism or discrimination is displayed. Keeping of development records and observations Positive management of children's behaviour. Preparation, care, cleanliness and maintenance of the playrooms and equipment. Providing a good role model for Students and help new staff to fit into the nursery. Keeping accident, incident and risk assessment records. Supervision of meals and mealtimes and where appropriate preparation of babies' bottles. Laundry duties Attendance of staff meetings as arranged by the Nursery Manager. Participating in regular parents' evenings, publicity, open weekends and children's outings. Any other duties appropriate to the post as directed by the Nursery Manager.

Requirements;




Preferably have GCSE grades A-C or 4-9 in Maths and English, or equivalent or willing to work towards them

Hours;




The Setting is open from 7:30am - 5:30pm Monday to Friday The successful candidate will be required to work 30 - 35 hours per week
