Level 2 Childcare Apprenticeship - Nancledra Pre-school

Shoots Training are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individual to complete their Level 2 Childcare Apprenticeship at Nancledra Pre-school, Penzance.


Nancledra Preschool is set in a lovely rural location between the village of Nancledra and the Church hamlet of Towednack, halfway between Penzance and St.Ives. We are a traditional preschool that works closely with Nancledra Primary School. Located next to the school's grounds.


The preschool is based in a brand-new bespoke building built in 2018. We are incredibly proud of our new building and work hard to make it an exciting and happy place for all our children to attend.


As an independent setting, we provide full and part -time childcare to local families in the community.


We strive to provide a friendly and caring preschool. We encourage our children to feel happy and secure - and enjoy their childhood.


We are a small and friendly preschool that provides excellent full and part-time childcare, as well as helping children prepare for their transition into life at primary school.


The preschool room is home for our children aged 2 - 4 years. The children follow the early years foundation stage and have a vast variety of opportunities daily. We believe that a child learns best when they are having fun and are playing with something that interest them. Therefore, we provide lots of opportunities for child lead learning.


Each child has a key worker. The key worker's role is to develop trusting and sensitive relationships with parents and children to enable respectful sharing of information. We like to work in partnership with parents to help children learn and develop. All parents complete an "All About Me" profile before their children join us and this relationship parental input continues.


The benefit of being a small setting is that we have the time to work closely with all the children, encouraging their interests and ideas. We place a great emphasis on developing friendships and respecting each other. After all, many of our children will be moving up to school together, and we help them create those all-important bonds that can last for years!

Sports 4 tots

We are extremely lucky to have Nick from Sports 4 Tots who attends the preschool every week to give the children PE lessons and they love them!


Every week Nick teaches a different sport for all the children to join in with. Each lesson focuses on learning core skills around that sport.


The baby room is for our children aged 0-2 years.


We believe in making our baby room as homely and relaxed as possible. Our baby room caters up to 6 babies a day.


We have a fun play area, with lots of toys and sensory objects for them to play with. Alongside this we have a cosy sleep area and calm area where children can enjoy a comfortable sleep or rest in the armchair with staff enjoying their favourite book.


The baby room leads onto its own outside garden with outside toys including a climbing frame, slide and swing. The baby room spends lots of time outside enjoying the fresh air all year round discovering the different seasons.


Staff regularly take the children out on countryside walks in our twin prams to explore the local community and wildlife.


Here at Nancledra Preschool, we work closely with Nancledra School offering a wraparound care service.

Your duties and responsibilities will include;

Supporting the key members of the team Working with an enthusiastic team that all work together in the best interests of the children Engaging the children with play and supporting with age-appropriate activities Create a safe and stimulating environment for the children Support with all aspects of personal care and hygiene Helping with snack and mealtimes Supporting the children with additional needs Building relationships and communicating with families and external agencies, observing the children's progress. Deliver the EYFS Hands on, learning the role of a nursery practitioner with the support of a small friendly mature team to help guide you.

Requirements;

You must be able to gain a clear DBS (paid for by the nursery) Preferably have GCSE grades A-C or 4-9 in Maths and English, or equivalent or willing to work towards them

Hours;

Nancledra Pre-school is open from 7:45am - 5:15pm Monday to Friday The successful candidate will be required to work 25 - 40 hours per week Flexible and patterns to be discussed
