KILDRUM: Peace of Mind for Parents Out of School Care Service
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and possess the necessary skills to provide high-quality care in anOut of School setting. This role requires strong leadership abilities and effective communication skills. As a Childcare Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in nurturing and supporting the development of children in your care. Childcare Practitioners are responsible for the health and wellbeing of the children in their care from the moment they collect them from school. You need to be empathic, caring, adaptable and flexible to meet the varying needs of children who attend the care service each day.
A knowledge of the role of a Social Service worker and an understanding of the Quality Daycare Standards for childcare services is essential for anyone applying to work in this sector. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and self-motivated with good communication skills. A willingness to learn and apply new skills, work as part as a team as well as with groups of children and other adults is essential. A personal commitment to continuous personal development and SVQ training is essential.
Duties
Provide attentive and nurturing care to children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Plan and implement engaging activities that promote learning and development in line with early childhood education principles.
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster a supportive environment.
Manage daily routines, including pick up's, snack times and play activities, ensuring that each child's needs are met.
Lead by example, demonstrating positive behaviour and encouraging children to develop social skills.
Maintain accurate Child's Personal Plans/records of children's progress and communicate any concerns to relevant parties.
Experience
Previous experience working with children in a childcare setting is essential.
A background in early childhood education is highly desirable.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Ability to engage with children at their level and foster positive relationships.

Qualification:
SQA3 SQCF Childhood Practise (Level 7) preferred.
